Religious tours that must be visited in Tuban Regency

KABARBARU, JAKARTA – Tuban is the capital city of Tuban Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. Usually, people know it as the City of Earth Guardian.

Tuban area itself is a place where the guardians used to stop in broadcasting the teachings of Islam. From here, the City of Bumi Wali Tuban is known for its various religious tourism sites that can fill the heart and spirit that binds and brings us closer to the beloved creator of Allah SWT.

The following are religious tours that must be visited when going to Tuban:

1. Tomb of Sunan Bonang

The religious tourism of Sunan Bonang’s tomb is located on KH Mustin Street, Kutorejo, Tuban District, Tuban Regency, East Java.

Sunan Bonang, whose real name is Raden Maulana Maqdum Ibrahim, is the son of Kanjeng Sunan Ampel. Sunan Bonang is a prominent broadcaster of Islamic teachings who invites people to embrace Islam with the artistic method of preaching.

One of the uses of his da’wah is through wayang intermediaries or gamelan instruments and so on. So, his method of preaching is not through forces but through approaches that do not offend the other followers of other religions.

Sunan Bonang’s tomb is in two places, namely in Bawean and Tuban, both of which are his original tombs. Long story short,  Sunan Bonang died in Bawean, and his burial grave was in Bawean. His students from Tuban wanted the Sunang Bonang’s cemetery to be in Tuban.

On the night after the funeral, a number of students from Tuban hid in Bawean and took the body of Sunan Bonang. The next day it turned out that the tomb and body of Sunan Bonang in Bawean and Tuban were the tomb and body of Sunan Bonang, until now. The tomb of Sunan Bonang in Tuban is located west of the Great Mosque of Tuban.

2. Tomb of Sheikh Asmoroqondi

Sheikh Asmoroqondi’s tomb religious tourism is located in Gresikharjo Hamlet, Palang District, Tuban Regency, East Java.

Sheikh Asmoroqondi, namely Sheikh Ibrahim As-Samarqandi is the father of Sunan Ampel or named Raden Ali Rahmatullah.

3. Tomb of Sheikh Subakir

Sheikh Subakir’s tomb religious tourism is located in Tasikharjo, Jenu District, Tuban Regency, East Java and located in the Tidar mountains, Magelang, Central Java.

Sheikh Subakir was the first Islamic figure who come to Java before the presence of Sheikh Maulana Malik Ibrahim or Sheikh Maulana Ishaq. Sheikh Subakir broadcasts Islam in the Magelang area, Central Java and Mount Tidar is his boarding school.

4. Tomb of Sunan Geseng

The tomb of Sunan Geseng is a religious tourism in Tuban. The tomb of Sunan Geseng itself is located in Krajan, Gesing, Semanding District, Tuban Regency, East Java.

Sunan Geseng has a real name, namely Kiyai Cokrojoyo. He is a Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga’s students who is very obedient and loyal.
