KABARBARU, LAMONGAN- Lamongan is a district located in East Java Province, Indonesia. In addition to its global cuisine, Lamongan also has beautiful tours, one of which is visiting religious tourism destinations.
The following are religious tourist destinations that you must visit:
1. Sunan Drajat Religious Tourism
To visit Sunan Drajat’s grave, tourists must go to Drajat Village, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, East Java.
Raden Sunan Drajat himself was named Raden Syarifudin, also known as Raden Qasim. He is the son of Kanjeng Sunan Ampel and Dewi Chandrawati. At that time, the local community adhered to the Hindu-Buddhist religion. Sunan Drajat established a langgar or prayer room for worship and learning Islamic religious scholarship for some time.
Kanjeng Sunan Drajad spreads Islam by focusing on education, orphans, and the poor, which noble officials and wealthy business people developed to help distribute sadaqah by the teachings of the Islamic religion. He preaches through art that uses a gamelan instrument called Singo Mengkok and creates a song called “Tembang Pangkur.”
2. Sheikh Maulana Ishaq Religious Tourism
Sheikh Maulana Ishaq’s religious tourism destination is Raya Gresik Street, Kemantren Village, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, East Java.
Sheikh Maulana Ishaq stopped in Java in 1404 AD with his father, Sheikh Maulana Ahmad Jumadil Qubro, and his brother, Sheikh Maulana Malik Ibrahim.
The story of Sheikh Maulana Ishaq, one of which he stopped in Blambangan wherein the Kingdom there was a disease outbreak that caused death. Blambangan was led directly by King Menak Sembuyu. Various kinds of healers who came could not cure the disease. A disease outbreak also attacked his daughter named Dewi Sekaradu.
For months the plague did not recover. Finally, Prabu Menak Sembuyu held a contest whose contents were if he could cure his daughter’s illness, he would be paired with Dewi Sekardadu if the woman would be made a brother.
No one dared to face the disease. Resi Kandabaya knew that Maulana Ishaq could cure the disease and then conveyed it to Prabu Menak Sembuyu. Finally, they traveled for six days and met Sheikh Maulana Ishaq.
He said, “Islam is a religion that always helps people who need help, especially for guests from far away.” Then Sheikh Maulana Ishaq received a request to be able to help, and finally, the group returned to the kingdom by traveling for six days.
3. Sunan Sendang Duwur Religious Tourism
The next is Sunan Sendang Duwur, located in Sendangduwur, Kranji, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, East Java.
Sunan Sendang Duwur’s real name is Raden Noer Rahmad. He was the son of Abdul Kohar bin Malik bin Sultan Abu Yazid. Raden Noer Ahmad wanted to be able to build a mosque in Sendang Duwur Village, but the problem was that he did not have wood.
It was conveyed to Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga and then directed to Queen Kalinyamat, who came from Jepara and owned a mosque. The mosque will be given to Sunan Sendang if he can move it himself. And finally, Sunan Sendang, with Allah’s permission, was able to move the mosque in his village. Another story is that the entourage brought the mosque on the orders of Sunan Drajat by sea.
4. Nyi Dewi Andong Sari Religious Tourism
Last, the destination that must be visited is Nyi Dewi Andong Sari, Sekidang Village, Sambeng District, Lamongan Regency, East Java. Nyi Andong Sari was the mother of Majapahit, Gadjah Mada. Eating Nyi Andong Sari is on the hill of Gunung Ratu. Dewi Andong Sari is the daughter of the Dharmasyara Kingdom.
Which is the story before moving to Lamongan, Dewi Andong Sari was the wife of the King of Majapahit named Raden Wijaya. One of the wives of the Majapahit Kingdom named Dara Jingga and Dara Petek did not like him so they planned to expel Dewi Andong Sari from the Majapahit Kingdom. Dewi Andong Sari was expelled from the Majapahit Kingdom, walked towards Ratu Lamongan Hill, and stayed there until she gave birth to a son, Gajah Mada.
